This may be boring.....
We just got back from 4 nights at the Stardust. We like the Stardust and they are good to us even though we're low rollers. Our trip from Columbus on Southwest was a nice easy flight. we arrived 20 min early. (now thats how i like getting to vegas). we were much too early to check in so we hit the machines waiting for the rest of our party - who were arriving 3 hours later. We played a little vp (i know their paytables suck). we also played around with the nickel video slots. I managed to win a little at each machine. The Stardust replaced their old vp machines that are on the ledge (at least thats how we think of it - right at the top of the sets of steps - near the front doors sorta). They are now all multi-game machines. they also have a blackjack pit (with other games i think) with a tropical theme - jimmy buffet music playing - but lousy 6-5 for a blackjack. finally headed out to the airport to pick the rest of the gang. the rest of the day vp-wise was a bust for me - husband hit aces on a bonus vp machine so he was happy. headed over to westward ho where my non-vp playing sister in law managed to hit the progressive on the 9/6 job machines for $1268! this, of course, pissed me off so i was determined not to go home royal-less. nothing else exciting that day.
Day 2 - went out for the day cruising different casinos. hit the gold coast for a little blackjack (my hubby and i are beginners so we hit the $5 tables and did ok). we're just trying to get more comfy playing with someone other than a computer
we then headed out to Sam's Town. I couldn't do crap - lost $200 on a .50 vp machine and was down in the dumps. finally i sat at a machine close to where we were meeting up and starting playing dbl-dbl bonus. couldn't even hit a four of a kind when low and behold - aces with the kicker! Well, doesn't that brighten your day. went and showed off my ticket to the others who were playing pennies - ha ha! headed down to MSS where i got 3 scratch cards - $3 and two $2. cashed out $100 and then we went back home to the Stardust. Played vp there most of the evening - didn't hit anything significant.
Day 3 headed to GVR and Fiesta Henderson - nothing happening at GVR except they took my money. Fiesta was ok, earned 3 scratch cards - all F's and 200 points. that was a bummer. i guess i was expecting something a little more exciting - even $2 would have been nice. told us we could come back tomorrow for triple points and more scratch cards - but didn't think the drive was worth the 200 points
Went to Orleans - played some blackjack and then headed home to stardust - hubby hit aces again, aaggghhhh.
Day 4 - could not win anything anywhere we went. it was just one of those days. We finally ended up back at the Stardust for dinner and then more vp since this was our last night. my hubby wanted to get some more blackjack in so I sat with him and watched my $100 go bye-bye within an hour. he was doing well so I said see ya! I decided to play $1 vp since it was my last night $300 later I was truly bummed out. So I took my last $95 (left me with $2 in my pocket) Actually i had more money but I didn't want to go to the room and get it so I decided this is my last effort - until morning anyway
Sat down at a machine where I could watch my hubby at the blackjack table. I looked at the games and thought - ha - triple bonus - I'll play your silly game (i know everyone is cringing). So I sat and played and was kinda breaking even when I hit Aces!!!! Whee 1200 credits. now i can play awhile - checked on hubby - he's still playing blackjack. an older gentlemen sitting next to me said a lady had hit a royal on my machine last night - great! I told him I was about ready for bed and he said that what he did the night before and he had a chance to play that machine and then the lady sat down and hit the royal. i took this with a grain of salt and just continued to play. about a half an hour later I was dealt 4 to the royal. held my TJQA of clubs and up popped the K!!! OK, now I'm excited. hubby is still playing blackjack. So, i thought I'll play this down but not below the $1000, 10 min later it deals me 3 aces - bang up comes the fourth!!! now this is fun! I'm up to about $1500. So I thought i'll play awhile and not go below $1200 (i talk myself into a stopping point - of course i've talked myself out of that stopping point a few times). Next thing I know I've hit 4 fours for 600 credits. then I hit a regular 4of a kind for 250 and I'm over $1800. I look up and hubby is still playing. So I decide to play it down to $1700 and sure enough the machine tells me in that subtle way to get my butt up to bed. So I cash my ticket out and go over and surprise my husband who has just bet his last $5 chip!. Went to bed in a very good mood.
Got up the next morning deciding I was going to blow $200 on a vp machine just for the heck of it. put a $50 in and played some dbl bonus. hit a regular quad and then hit four 2's so I ended up cashing out $200 right before we headed to the airport. Had wonderful, beautiful weather - 80's during the day with cloudless skies. Talked about moving out there again. - as we have the last 4 or 5 times we've been there. my hubby has even been job hunting on Monster. Who knows?? someday???
Sorry to any who thought this was boring - i don't have the great writing style of some of our posters
