Trip Report part 2 of 2- June- Silver Legacy

<Continuation of Part 1 May: Peppermill>

Day 6

today, GF & I had a good lazy morning sleeping in late, then
we packed up our bags because today is MOVE DAY.

Took our bags downstairs, did a little shopping, took bags
to bell, I checked out w/ zero balance and we bee-lined to Milano for yummy
breakfast food about 1:00.

I asked for a Silver Legacy limo to come pick us up from
Peppermill at 3PM. The casino was getting crowded, even in high limit, so
I sought refuge in the back corner of high limit and jammed in a bunch of
hundreds into $2 coin x 3 lines Bonus poker, and lit a stogie. I hit 3 quads
for 250 and a quad A for 800 on the way to a +300 session.

I headed to bell desk, GF joined in time. Our driver of the
big green limo is a good friend.

Lots of events in town, streets closed off around Silver
Legacy - for a spring version of Street Vibrations.

We check in to my fave “Pyramid” suite on the 36th
floor. Imagine the laughs when GF notices that my name is misspelled on the
matchbook covers. Harrrumph.

We headed to the casino floor after getting unpacked. GF
got new slot cards at the promo desk. We went to my favorite hangout near the
center bar/stage - $1 minimum machines with a $1 DDB progressive at $4401. We
went our own ways, me opting for a stogie and some $1 NSUDeuces where I scored
a nice quad ducks for $1000. I picked up our comped tickets, 4th row (yay) to
the Celtic Woman show at the Event center, a block walk. We met up for a fine
light dinner at Pearl Oyster Restaurant, a little gaming, then off to the show
at 7:10PM. Nice seats and pleasant enough Irish music.(rate it B-, some sappy
songs) Their new violinist also played harp on a few pieces - so I liked that a
lot. Somewhere along here, I discovered a funny looking old (series 1990) $100
bill in my pocket wad of 100s, and I tried to exchange it at the cashier’s cage
after the show. A manager scrutinized it with a magnifying glass and said they
wouldn’t touch it. I gotta admit it put me on tilt for much of the rest of the
night, trying to figure when I would have received it. Not that that
mattered, I was gonna eat the $100 in any case if it truly is counterfeit.
Moral: inspect your bills from the ticket redemption machine and when they
count out your handpays.

We stopped in to say hey to host. I complained, tongue in
cheek, sort of, about the error on my matchbooks, but Host knows me too
well to take such a minor issue seriously, and he teased me about how many
worse ways they could have spelled it.

I spared him the bogus bill story, even though I’d narrowed the
source down to one of Silver Legacy’s ticket redemption machines. I’ve since
inspected it closer and it passes all the 3 security features.

I finished the night out at 1:30AM with lots of small-ish
losing sessions. 5 hrs gaming, DOWN 1200 on the day. About 10K UP for the
trip.

Day 7

GF was up before 9AM, headed to the airport to rent a car to
drive herself to visit friends at a family cabin on Lake
Tahoe. She’ll get back tonite. I, on the other hand, slept til
about noon after surfing the secret service website in the wee hours last night
to see what to do with this bogus $100 bill. I’ll either frame it or do
the proper thing and turn it in so the feds can investigate it’s origin. I’m
actually surprised it hasn’t happened to me before now, what with the large number
of 100’s that I deal with on these trips. [I’ve since inspected it closer and it passes all the 3 security features. So it might just be old and not counterfeit.]

I started out about 1PM with a nice $1 DDB session: two
dealt bonus quads about 5 min apart: Quad A for 800 and quad 3 for 400.
Couldn’t draw the kicker for the double double on either.

Later on, up 1400 at the time, I dumped 700 on 5c x 100-line
(9/6) DDB. Horrible dealt hands, the key to success in multi-line. Then, a near
hour on Pai Gow, dropped my $300 stake with mostly terrible hands and trite
conversation. Back to $1 DDB with success: Quad 3 w/4 kicker for 800, Quad J
for 250 and Quad 2 sans kicker for 400 and a + $700 long session. UP $1100 at room
break about 6:45. A nice surprise there: a stack of matchbooks with my name
spelled correctly on them. Yay for
host.

Post–room-break, dropped 600 to $1 DDB+ and $1 Joker wild,
with just one jackpot in 90 min; a Straight flush for $250. GF returned and
found me and we had dinner at Hussong’s cantina, where I had my fave Baja fish
tacos & a classic margarita.

Dropped another 100 until quitting about 1AM. GF introduced
me to a very fun and funny Monty Python Holy Grail slot machine. $2.50 max bet
per pull. As the reels come in, the coconut clopping noise travels across the
stereo speakers. Bonus action is clips from the movie. In one bit, when King
Arthur chops off the Black Knight’s arms, coins come out of his shoulders
instead of blood. Many times the game had me laughing out loud. I’m hooked.
Plus I won a $120 on one bonus hand, for an even session.

8 hrs v-p, 1 hr paigow. Up 400 for the day. UP 10,200
for the trip.

Day 8

I got to gaming at 12:30. ACE$Bonus was what I started out
with, only partially because someone hit the $1 DDB prog RF for over 4500
during the night or this morning. I went for the $2 denom and I got a quad for
250 and quad Aces for 800, so it’s a surprise I had such a long session that I
lost 800. That kind of set the tone for the day. Three more quads for 250
each on $1 DDB are my only jackpots up until 3:00, DOWN 1900, when GF’s
good friends arrived at the valet, they drove into town from Tahoe. I got to
show off this great suite and we hung around a bit. We did some gaming on the
mezzanine level, then had a fine dinner at Sterling. They left at 7:00.

I did better from 7:00-11:00, down 500 in this interval,
with 3 x $250 quads, an $800 quad aces and a very immersive session on a newer
Willy Wonka slot machine, highlighted with $540 jackpot on one hand: a screen
full of Uncle Charlies on the Oompah bonus round, for a +340 session.

I lost another 700 in the next hour, extinguishing my
“loose” 3100 stake for the day.

I dipped into the small bundle and went into a quadless
spiral, down 1000 on $2 ACE$Bonus single line. I switched to $2 DDB single line
and got two quads for 500 each in a near hour-long session on most all of the
bank of 8 machines near the center “Silver Baron Lounge” bar. Down another 1000
and that was time to slam the brakes on this big Loss day and go to bed.
Down 5100. I was hoping to avoid a day like this on this trip.

Tomorrow we check out, game all day, oh yeah, and eat, then
limo to airport around 7PM.

I’m still up over 5K for the trip, so I’ll scale back
on the denom and guard my profit.

Day 9

Up Lazy Late today. I packed my stuff after checking e-mail.
GF had prepacked last nite. We dropped bags to bell desk, checked out, had
breakfast at the café. Got to gaming about 2:00.

Down 500 on $1 DDB, session had two quads for 250 ea.

UP 1300 on a long $2 ACE$Bonus session, included a dealt
quad 8 for 250, quad 4 for 400, quad 5 for 250, and a fine quad Ace for 800.

Lost that profit of 800 on $2 DB and more $2 ACE$Bonus.

Down a bit more on various games, frenzy of last hours in
town building up.

I chose my last stand machine and game, a turbo lightning
fast triple line $1 Bonus poker on bank of 4 All-Star multi-game machines.
I played it for an hour and got 8 quads, but dropped 100.

4 hrs gaming, DOWN 600 on the day.

+4400 for the trip.

Great trip all around, lot of fun, and not all work (video poker).

Fun to play with friends when some of us were winning, 2 out
of 3.

Nice to have GF surprise me by joining me midway thru
the trip.

Of course yesterday’s big loss cut into my hope to profit
10K again like last trip.

But, overall, it’s always a bonus to take profit home of any
size.

Hope you don’t think your reports are unappreciated. I think they are among the best out there. I DO wish you would include more food details. Also, I never hear a mention of that great Peppermill gem-the heated waterfall pool.
