Trip Report: Harvey's Tahoe, 2/17-2/21

My partner and I took a Harrah's comped junket from Mobile, Al to
Tahoe, via Reno Airport.

Flights were excellent and bus transfers were slow but fine.
Harvey's is showing its wear; casino floor and public areas all need
upgrading. However, my Lake Tower room was spacious and somewhat
updated. All in all, rooms and casino are inferior to adjacent
Harrah's Tahoe.

Best VP game is 9/6 JOB @ Harvey's and Harrah's. Bill's
Casino (across the street) has FPDW!!!!, and Horizon has 9/6 JOB
with same day CB (approx .2% or .4% on Tuesdays and Thursdays).
There is no CB at Harvey's, Harrah's or Bill's (indeed, Bill's
doesn't even have a slot club any longer). Additionally, Reward
Credits are extremely tight at Harvey's and Harrah's. I made sure
to build up my RC prior to junket at one of Biloxi's 7X days.

Spa at Harrah's was fantastic, as was the Summit restaurant. The
Forest Buffet at Harrah's was also well above average, with
spectacular views of the lake.

Now for the VP. Just to show my host some action in less that
optimal conditions, I played $10, five play JOB @ Harvey's the first
morning ($250 a shot). Ten minutes after hitting a straight flush,
I held a J, A diamond. Result: A $40K Royal!!! Woo Hoo!!!
After getting paid by check, I played off the remaining $800 and quit
Harvey's VP for the rest of the trip. However, I did play some of
Harvey's less than optimal double deck blackjack (BJ profit: $600).

My luck continued at Horizon, where I won an additional $4,500
playing $5 and $25 JOB, and a whopping "$93.00" in a blackjack
tournament. Best of all, I brought home two free logo robes and a
logo leather jacket for my in-laws, lol.

Finally, I lost about $500 playing $1 FPDW at Bill's. I couldn't
seem to crack those 100.76% machines!

All in all, this was an unbelievable trip!
