OK, looks like I can post again. I've been the last several hours
checking this site as I've just got back from our favorite city.
This post is strictly gambling report as when I go out myself, (as I
did this time) there's no shows, eating.... strictly about 16 hours a
day of VP. I stay at Fremont cuz that's where I'm fully comped. I
eat mostly at the buffet & I don't think it's all that bad.
My shows consist of taking a little time off from VP & wandering
Fremont Street people watching.
Went out Thurs am & immediately hit the 10/6 DDB at Fremont. I
prefer mostly 25c play, but the 10/6 only in 50c version here. As
usual, it had my lunch for awhile till $2000 royal early evening. By
bed time, I was about even with the board again. By the way, the
reason I play mostly DDB is that's the only game with a positive EV
at home casino here in Ia., at least when the progressives make it
positive which is quite often.
I also like the bar progressives at 4Q's, and usually stick with 9/6
DDB. I'm usually pleasantly surprized at what the progressives get
to, I suspect there's an awful lot of unskilled play going on these
machines. Friday a little B4 noon hit my first ever royal at 4Q's
($1000 this time). About an hour later hit MY FIRST DEALT ROYAL.
Thankfully I was watching the screen when it came up & not gawking
(sp?) around. What a pretty site to behold. So 3 royals in less
than 24 hours....nice
Of course gave a lot back B4 I left, and would have been back to
about even when the 10/6 Fremont DDB awarded me with $1000
aces/kicker. I know there's volitutity there, but those 2 machines
can definately suck up a bunch of cash when you are a quarter player
mostly.
A couple of other notes...While playing in VP tournament on Sat at
Fremont, someone hit a $20,000 royal out on the floor, on one of the
3 $5 machines. I haven't checked all the payouts on these, but DDB
is also 10/6.
I ran into another member Thurs. nite while playing & spent quite a
bit of time chatting. Gene also hit a $2000 royal on Friday.
Once in a great while for a break, I stck $20 into a 2's/joker
machine. I don't have much of a clue what I'm doing or what the
apyout percentage on these even work out to. I've played and
studeied dueces very little as it screws me up too much for DDB &
JOB, my normal games. I'm amazed at how long I can play that silly
game on 20 bucks & once had 4 otta the 5 wilds for a 10,000 coin
payout. I strictly play intuitivly & probably make quite a few
mistakes, but, hey...it's $20. Kinda fun. I can see the attraction
of ducks play.
Had a great weekend & now that Air tran has a non stop flite to Vegas
from Moline, Ill, it'll make getting there easier and a little
cheaper. Heck I was on their first non stop flite otta Quad Cities &
I swear to God...Elvis was on Board, really. And I think that was
the anniversary of his SUPPOSED death. HAH.
Gene, didn't see you at the Tourney on Sat. I'll probably be back
for the one in Nov., so you know where to find me if you're in the
area. Enjoyed chatting with you & sharing war stories.
