TRIP AND DOLORES' GOOD LUCK

Guys,

Thanks for the kind and sympathetic words that yoU posted and sent
me about my Dad. It was nice of you. Here's what I wrote about him in
a column several year's back during a visit.

"After three days in my Dads tiny apartment sleeping on a blow-up
doll...I mean a blow up mattress, I was beginning to get a slight
touch of claustrophobia. Walks to the public library to check my email
every day helped. Every night we had to play the obligatory game of
Uno. Uno is not one of the most exciting games that I've ever played,
but I put up with it as it seemed to be one of my Dad's favorites.

I had been telling my Dad about all the books and software that I
collect so I can play just about every casino game computer perfect,
and every time I lost at Uno he would say to me, "Maybe you should buy
some books and software on Uno and you wouldn't lose so often." I just
gritted my teeth."

During the ride out and back to Minnesota for the funeral, Dolores and
I stopped at a few casinos.(all tribal owned) The only decent games
that we found were a quarter 9/6 JB at a Kawadin casino in Maistique
in the UP, and an NSUD (16/10/4/4 deuces wild) dollar game at The Chip
Inn in Escanaba.

The good news is that Dolores hit the slots for $1800, $600, $350,
$300 and $150 along the way. I meanwhile played a lot of lousy paying
VP machines and mostly lost.

"Like the Sirens in Greek mythology that lured the ancient mariners
to their deaths, the slot machines call out to me as I pass."

PS: I was down to GT yesterday playing quarter Pick'Em, deuces wild,
9/6 JB and dollar Bonus Poker at the bar. Hit a $175 quad at the bar
and won a couple of hundred for the day.

Press on Texas Hold'em Poker. I've got syndicated authors Mark
Pilarski and Al Krigman adding articles to it. Wish me well.
