Trials and tribulations at Sam's Town, Chapter 3

Joe Pucek wrote, Being a drinking man, I often play bar top 9/6 JOB
at Sam's for handy access to a bartender. I am often told they can
not comp B & B and I tell them they are mistaken, call a slot

somethin' One time I was playing double deck BJ heads up and I had a
confrontation with a cocktail waitress over her promptness on
bringing me fresh rounds. When she left in a huff I asked the dealer
what I did wrong. She said "nothing" and told me to inform the
gentleman behind me in the craps pit whom I took to be the shift
manager. I demurred and she insisted lest said waitress continue the
behavior. So I walked over and told the PC what happened. He wrote me
a comp slip for FOUR rounds of B & B. which albeit dated, I still
have. Been thinking of having it laminated, sort of a drinker's
strategy card, lol.

At Sam's Town I've never had a problem getting Drambuie or any other
pricey liqueur, and we only play quarters. Sunset Station is the
only place we go to where I can't get what I order. No matter what
Scotch I order I get the same generic, not-too-good Scotch. It's
impossible to understand; I tip as well there as I do in other
casinos, and the cocktail waitresses seem friendly, but they won't
bring the Scotch a person orders.

Hmmm...perhaps we should have a drinker's strategy card of casinos that are generous with drink comps and have 9/6 Jacks at the bar?

I'll start it off. Good places:
-Silverton (has 9/6 Prog at the Mi Casa bar and will comp just about anything including premium tequila pours).
-Wynn (great drink service all around, supposedly comps 18-year old Macallan although this has not been verified recently. Sucks for bar players -- this only applies to table players).
-Main Street Station (9/6 at the bar, will comp Microbrews).
-Four Queens (possible 9/6 at bar, maybe also comps Microbrews?)
-Sams Town (mixed reviews).
Bad places:
-Sunset Station

The MSS bar (elephant, rhino, something like that) is about the nicest place to play VP that I have ever experienced. The bar itself is really cool, the stools are super comfortable, they have FP JOB and their beer is quite good. And they have scratch cards for quads. Now if they just had 10/7 DB or FPDW...

The bar play at 4Q's is not full pay, although the progressives can make it interesting. I've never been able to get one of the Chicago brews there though. You have to go to the restaurant--which is tiny, has bar VP and bad paytables. Also on the plus side for 4Q's, even if you play the stand alone machines you won't go thirsty. The waitress service is very good.

Gold Coast has a huge bar with 9/6 Jacks and sometimes will often have interesting drink specials--Cazadores and import beers are two recent examples.

The Crazy Horse Bar at MGM makes fantastic drinks--their bar tenders are generally very professional. And they will comp some of the better liquor brands. But the VP is deplorable. They have a nice rum selection that I sometimes avail myself of when I'm there--but I try to play video blackjack slowly and at a low denom.

The list of bars that have FP VP is pretty short. I think MSS would have to top the list.

I'll second that, hit RF for $2000 there last time while watching the Football game

Those progs go positive quite a bit, but you have to scout among 50C ducks and Jokers.

The Chicago Brew will comp any drink on the menu if you've got enough coin in. I've signed off on the pizza's against my room many times, and 4Q'w always picks up.

Check out the Southpoint too. I was playing a 101 game there last time since the prog was quite large for 8/6 BDLX.
