Will be driving in from Laughlin next week, for a week. But, was
thinking about leaving through the Dam area (Highway 93), can anyone
give a traffic report?
Travel on 93? --What's Hoover Dam By-Pass Traffic delays like?
Traffic? There is no traffic to speak of going overe Hoover Dam. The Post 911 security measures prohibits all trucks, RVs, vehicles pulling trailers and buses from crossing the dam. You may run in to very short delays for construction traffic for the new bridge going up south of the dam.
My wife and I cross the Colorado at Laughlin and go up through Searchlight. Distance wise this is longer, but time wise it is faster.
If you haven't been over Hoover Dam it's worth the drive. A true engineering marvel. Kind of like the Grand Canyon. Film and photos don't do it justice.

Yes we've driven that route before.... long time ago. I think before 9-
11? Will be overnight in Laughlin because of free rooms on our way in,
but plan a slighly different route home, what with the gas prices being
what they are. Shorter miles should mean less cost...?

Amen to that ! I have NO idea why pictures cannot pick up on the
magnitude/ beauty of the Grand Canyon, but they can't even come
close. Both our kids think it's just a big hole in the ground because
they've never seen it.
