Travel Channel - Pros guide to Vegas

I was watching this show last night on the Travel Channel called the
Pros Guide to Las Vegas and I'm wondering how current it was. They
said tha Arizona Charlies East (Boulder) was the place to play VP off-
strip because they are "the new kids on the block who try harder". I
was there over Labor Day and was not impressed. Their VP inventory
was lackluster at best to my observation with hardly a full pay in
the bunch. There was also mention on a cash refund "up to $120 plus
10%" if you join the slot club at the Strat, play for at least 30
minutes and lose. I've heard that the Stratosphere had a refund
program for new club members but wasn't told it was that good or even
still exists. I'm coming to Vegas in about a week and would like to
know how accurate these claims are. Thank you in advance.

The show aired, I believe, in 2001. The Strat promotion has changed and the one that aired is not valid. I do not play at the Strat very often so I can not tell what their latest promotion is. Maybe someone else can comment on that.

Needless to say, allot of things have change in 2 years. The Palms still gets my play, but I plan on checking some of the others out on my next trip in Dec.

The offer is FOR REAL! We used it and actually made a small profit
playing FP Dueces Wild machines and earned a $100 bonus each. To
maximize the bonus the key is to play for 30 minutes or more to
qualify and WITHIN that 1st 30 minutes put $667 or more through the
machines. That will generate the $100 maximum bonus.

The bonus voucher is sent to you in the mail and you have (I think) a
year to return to the Stratosphere to redeem it for CASH - no strings
attached!
