Transportation

If you are fit you could walk! LOL. $7.00 cab ride. My question is: why
would anyone want to go down town? We locals avoid it like the plague. PM and
Atlantis are the only really good casinos in Reno. Both have good VP............

Well, Harrah's is willing to give us some cash just to darken their door, so
that's a motivation. When I was last DT, there was some decent vp there.
And then there's that awful awful my wife keeps on talking about.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Both cab and bus seem easy and
relatively inexpensive options.

Received a mailer from the Pep saying, "join our FREE Passport Club and
receive $100 in FREE play." Asterisk small print: "Based on first hour of
play. Must be a new member. See information booth for complete details."

Is anyone familiar with this offer and its details? I already have a
players card, but I might have wife join slot club if the play is worth it.

Chandler

I signed by daughter up for this. They don't exactly heavily market it to the local market, but anyone without a slot card can do it at the information booth. They load up your card with the free play and you can play on slots and vp by inserting your card in a machine and activiating the free play with your pin nunber The trick is that you must play it thru before cashing out. So for instance if you were playing a dollar machine at $5.00 per hand you would play 20 times and then could cash out for however many credits you won. You can do it on one or many machines but if you are planning on going to multiple machines you must only activate that portion you plan on playing on that machine . Of course they hope you will just play your winnings till they are gone. Sorry if this is not clear.

They just give you the free play for signing up? This sounds almost too
good to be true. It is quite a value. I figured a loss reimbursement
promotion or a rebate geared to coin in in a specific amount of time.

At one time they were doing it as a loss reimbursement of play $100 and then they would reimburse you whatever you did not win. It was tricky and you had to keep track of how many plays you made up to the $100 and then cash out. You would then have a TITO ticket that you took to the info booth and they looked up and refunded your losses on your first hundred bet and you kept your winnings. They did not describe this as free play however, so it would depend on whether the ad said specifically "free play"

I'm still unclear on how this offer works. Like Chandler asked, is
it as simple as signing up and getting the free play? Thanks.

I just placed a call to the Pepp and spoke with someone who stated
that it is essentially a loss rebate, up to $100, on the first hour
of play.
