In some cases at least, it may be that they are making log entries that
will make the log more credible if/when it is presented to the IRS
supporting deductions for losses.

A reason
I track how many 4 of kinds I get. I track how many times I was
dealt 3 of a kind and how many times in converts to a 4 of a kind.
I know you convert it in about 1 in 24 draws. I play DB & DDB. I
do it to reassure myself that I'm not going to get a 4 of a kind
every time, and I don't get so angry at the machine.
