TR MS

Hi,
Haven't been to the Sun since the winter downgrades. My lady
friend's mother likes Michael Amante so I managed to use my Sagamore
status to get 4 tkts. to this otherwise sold out event on May 21.
The place was very crowded. Did place a few losing bets on the
Preakness and wasn't able to get to a 9/6 Jacks machine at either bar
till late in the evening and early on Sun. morning.Took a light loss on
these machines. Basically Mary and I tried to use as many of our
points as possible on a shopping spree. The Sun is a pretty place
but, because of its crap VP, we won't be back.

Larry,
Thanks for the report. MS downgrades have hurt and we are now
frequently flying to LV. The airfares from Boston are excellent with
Jet Blue at less than $200 RT. MS does provide decent comps and a nice
atmosphere. Losing $18/hour on JB is a little too steep for me.

Haaljo,
We still go to MS about 10 times a year. As long as they still have
JOB it is a reasonable play in my opinion. I usally put thru 30,000
per trip with an expected loss of 145. That play earns me 330 in
comps and gets me all the show tickets I want. If they downgrade the
remaining JOB the place will be history for us. We have a daughter
in Vegas so we go out there 6 times a year. The VP is far better
there. We usually fly delta song for about 200 also. It leaves
around 6 PM and gets us to Vegas by 9:15. I actually just hit a
royal at MS. It more than makes up for our losses their for the
year. We are off the Vegas for July 4th.

Mel,
Hearing you got a royal gives me (and perhaps Larry :-)) encouragement!

Actually it doesn't. MS is about thirty minutes shorter than AC from
my apartment on Long Island. When I frequented them in the fall and
early winter I was doing well on the $ PE. I rarely played Jacks
there as I felt I could always get that game in AC. Also with their
limited supply of Jacks I don't want to go there and not be able to
find an empty machine.
BTW my 82 yr. old mother who has failing eyesight and needs a
walker is coming in from Fla. tomorrow and wants to go to the Sun
instead of her usual AC journey. We'll go on Friday. She is a slow
quarter player, and with the Sun's offerings at this denom( doubt if
I'll find a free PE),I'll probably be making a contribution to the
Sun's coffers. I'll try to slow our play as much as possible and
spend as many points as I can at the stores and for meals. At this
stage in her life, whatever Mom wants I do.

Actually its fairly easy to find a free full-pay .25 Pick Em in the
right half of the Smoke-Free Gaming room of Sky casino. They
actually play slightly faster and have less glare from the lights
than in the old poker room. There are 6 of them there and I've never
seen them all used. Comp. rate was lowered however to (1/180). The
ones on the other side of the room pay worse.
