Tournaments Play Musings

If as in other Harrah's VP tourneys they have 12 machines(could have
been 20)set fast and we play 10 minute in two rounds I could see
somewhere around 100 hands(+/-) each round. 200 hands don't really
allow for much controll skill wise unless you have a hell of a run
of winning cards. If in the first round I played close to perfect
for given game hoping for the "Luck" to also be there, then in the
second round if my score was rally bad I could alter my play to "Go
for it" to try to bring it up to "in the money". You can be lucky
while playing the bast you can, or are they mutually exclusive...
Luck and Skill? If I never knew "perfect play "for the game at hand
I could be consider playing with a handicap. I mean, just what part
does skill of the game play, if any? All the afore mentioned
Tournaments don't involved a large 1st. place prize. Unless you
consider going further, I'm refering to Lake Tahoe and the Million.
Even the Shootout Tournament 1st. place isn't anything to get worked
up about. That is unless ones skill might really give me a chance to
have the highest combined score for both of them, then the extra
$5000 would spark some interest. However, without winning at least
one, I doubt that that has much of a chance of happening.
Could changing the error setting on WinPoker to not pay attention to
the smaller dollar amounts and play until you don't make mistakes be
of any help, or would you give up to much?
I still don't have the correct game info and don't know if I will
before it is to late. So I will study over all the replys and learn.
It got to help, can't hurt. I'll post how I do good/bad! Bossier
City isn't Vegas, so thanks again for taking the time to answer,
