Total rewards question......The answer is ASK!!! My husband is giving me a 5 day solo trip to Vegas for my birthday and I happen to be off the first week of July so I reserved my seat on the plane immediately. I just needed to decide where I wanted to stay. Since I would be alone and don't want to deal with a car, I decided I would do 2 or 3 days downtown and the others out on the strip and would search for some deal. A few days later, I received a offer for 2 nights comped at any Harrahs' property except CP (it was 99$), anytime June, July or August. I have stayed at the Paris but wanted something different so what a decision I had to make. By process of elimination of what I want to do while in Vegas I chose the Flamingo and called to reserve, very politely asked what a 3rd nights cost would be. He put me on hold for just about 1 minute came back and said based on my previous play he could comp the 3rd night also. July 3-5. Fabulous. Decided on 4Q, $32.00 a night for July 1 and 2. Heck of a deal and am down to counting the days when today I went home for lunch and there in my mailbox was a birthday offer from Bally's...2 nights comped during my birthday month of July but it says right on it cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer within 48 hours etc etc. however I figured can't hurt to ask so I called and told him upfront that I had 3 nights comped at the Flamingo and wondered if I could use the Bally's birthday nights so I could extend my stay by coming in July 1 and 2. He put me on hold for a very short time and came back and said, " No problem, with your past play, I can actually comp you up to five nights so with your 3 at the Flamingo I can can comp you those 2 nights at Ballys or give you all five at Ballys. I decided to keep the Flamingo as I really am excited about the pool area there.
5 nights comped (as a side note, who knew... my husband is giving me the regular cost of my rooms to add to my bankroll) I am not a high roller by any stretch, mostly play VP with occasional slots. I have not been to Vegas in a year. Anyway Ask ask and ask...all they can do is tell you no.
I do have 2 questions, I would like a room with a view of anything besides a brick wall, I don't care if it's strip, mountains, whatever, I just want to be able to see the sun, moon and stars. I plan on using the 20$ trick (at both hotels) but how do I ask this or should I ask for a certain tower?? Do you have to have your room key to get into the pool at Ballys? I will be arriving at 9 am and no way my room will be ready and that is not a problem, there is plenty to do but I leave home at 4:30 am to drive to the airport for a 8:15 flight so I figured I'd pack my swimsuit in my carry on and just go to the pool, take a swim and maybe even a short nap.
