Total Rewards - NOT!

My wife is a diamond with ~ 16,500 tier points and I am platinum with around 5,000 tier points. Honestly, we both played her card for the first 14,500 points. We mainly gamble at Horseshoe Southern IN and we NEVER get any free offers. This year we went to that casino frequently and gambled 25 cent - 50 cent DDB VP (usually only single coin). We must be their least desired customer, even though I would guess we are about $4,000 down this year. A typical visit for us is staying hours and getting about 200 tier points. Part of what boosted our points is a couple of vacations where we earned about 5,000 points.

My parents have almost exact same points at same casino and they get regular free offers for $10 - $25 free play. They have friend with fewer points (not diamond), fewer visits and obviously higher daily average that gets much better offers and gets free rooms more frequently than them.

We tried today to get a free room for Sunday, December 28th and they absolutely refused. We asked to speak to casino host and they just blew us off. I called about 5 minutes before my father, was told no. then my father called and he got a free room. My wife called back and they lied and said the comp'd rooms are gone. If anyone in this group goes to this casino and gets a room for Dec. 28th I would like to hear about it.

I'm ready to start going to Belterra Southern IN which is about an extra 30 minute drive for us.

The funny thing is we visited Horseshoe Hammond this summer for about 2 hours and we constantly get free offers from them for $50 - $75. We stayed at Harrah's Joliet on that trip and we get a few offers but not many.

Horseshoe Indiana is only concerned about you if you go one time and
make about 500-1000 tier points - then you will get all kinds of
offers. I used to like to go for just an hour or so and got 150-200
tier points at each visit (and in that I NEVER WIN) the time was
short. What that basically does is make your ATD (Average Daily
Total) too low to be considered "important"...

BUT if I go less to the casino and save that money (4 visits) for one
visit and spend that money - then my ADT will be a lot higher and
then I will be considered "important". The whole thing stinks!

Harrahs/Horseshoe/Caesars/Whatever - does not (and never has) catered
to the mainstay - the heart and core gamblers. So you need to go
only a few times and bet a lot when you go.

I have been doing what you are considering doing - go to Belterra -
then there is French Lick or Casino Aztar. Lets hope Kentucky gets
smart and votes in gambling... they are losing so much money to
Indiana.

Good Luck

Went to Harrah's Reno to finish up my base points for Platinum. Earned
about 1500 points and new offers, which I don't think that I would have
received before, started coming in. Now I'm planning on playing heavier
on fewer trips rather than getting a few hundred points on numerous
visits.

BTW, I hit my first $4000 royal on this trip. Maybe, they want their
money back.

I would consider this to be basic strategy at any Harrah's casino.

As others point out - your daily average is killing
you. Single coin play in quarters will not make you
any friends in the HET computers. Hit them as hard as
you can every once in a while, then play your regular
way on an entirely different card to accumulate your
comps.

When I was drinking the HET Kool aid we would stay for
at least 3 nights and play hard only one day. no
other play for that trip, on that card. no comps,
nothing on that card. The offers poured in. If you
could give them $20,000 in one day you will be showed
with offers.

Good luck!

Make that go once per card, and only go back (to play) on that card
when the offers dry up, which will take years ...

And never get carded (on a good card) using the diamond lounge, that's
a negative expectation play ...

Play like Harrah's wants you to play and you get rewarded.
