I played quarter Pick'Em with Dolores for awhile at Greektown
Sunday. We had a very nice dinner with wine at the Alley Grill, then
played my tickets in the promo. I got five to play, and just like
Brian, got screwed out of one more when the totals didn't jive with
the point totals that I thought I had.

There were still four royals up on the board with 800 as the next
total. How the heck do you get 800 points in three minutes playing
Jacks or Better? Two SF's and a quad? Four quads and some FH's and
Fl's? Didn't make any difference to me as I was prepared to use the
royal only strategy and give up the points.
Session #1---315 pts. One dealt quad (fives)
" #2---110 pts. One four to a royal finish hand
" #3---155 pts. " " " " "
" #4---165 pts. " " " " "
" #5---135 pts.
I think I had about three or four, three to a royal shots and a
lot of two to a royal. No four to a royal shots. Most hands had only
one or no royal cards leading to a useless redraw.
That's it. Done, over, and it only cost me about a grand for the
very dubious thrill of it all. A couple more thrilling promos like
that and I'll be playing the penny slots from now on.
