Tomorrow: JAN 2008 vpFREE Lunch @ Gold Coast

The JAN vpFREE lunch is scheduled for Saturday 19 JAN
at the Gold Coast Buffet at 11:30 AM. Meet at the buffet entrance.
This is an informal, non-hosted, Dutch treat lunch, and there's
the possibility that no one will show up. Anyone planning to
attend should post an RSVP on vpFREE for coordination purposes.

Anyone who agrees to host/attend a monthly lunch can select a
different location for that month's lunch, if they notify me before
the first of the month.

In addition, a vpFREE lunch (or dinner) will be scheduled
whenever any member volunteers to be a host and posts the time
and location details on vpFREE. Interested attendees should RSVP
on vpFREE.

Notes: Buffets are usually more expensive and lines are usually
longer on weekends and holidays. Send any pictures to me and I'll
post a link to them.

You scoff! Royer and Patrick are recommended material, IMHO. Sure as
hell beats reading internet posts which draw roadmaps to mistakes in
casinos you're playing. Yes, roadmaps.

Compare to our friend Rob Singer. Singer's brilliant, he wants you to
think he's a moron. I mean, the dude writes for Gaming Today, that
should certify him right there. I'm betting he really isn't.

I don't know anything about video keno but my wife saved my behind by winning $1750 on a quater video keno bet while I was losing more than that playing full pay video poker on our last visit to LV. I know the math doesn't justfy playing video keno but as all the books and articles I've read, luck is an important part of winning no matter what game you play. I'm sticking to video poker but I will let my wife do her thing.

Oh, I scoffed, but I didn't call Royer a moron. Not at all. No,
it's just the opposite. He would get my vote as a charter member of
the Hustler's Hall of Fame.

I'm like you when it comes to telling relatives how to gamble. My
mother and sister sometimes visit and they play all the bad stuff.
Why should I mess up their fun. Their only in town for a few days
anyway.

$1750 on a quarter bet would indicate that the solid seven payed 7000
for 1. The chances of hitting a solid seven (per Stanford Wong and
Wizard of Odds) is 1 in 40,984, roughly the same as a royal in video
poker.

With a royal paying 800 for one on a 1 in 40,000 chance it represents
about 2% of the payback.

With a solid seven paying 7000 for one on a 1 in 41,000 chance it
represents about 17% of the payback.

I'm guessing you were betting $1.25 per game while she was betting 25
cents per game. In hard currency she probably had a higher
theoretical loss rate between top line hits than you.

If you can come up with the entire payscale of the particular video
keno game she plays I will be glad to break the whole thing down for
you. It would only take a few minutes of my time.

I would just need to know:

What does the 3-out-of-7 pay per coin wagered? For instance does it
pay 1 for 1, or 2 for 1?

What does the 4-out-of-7 pay per coin wagered?
What does the 5-out-of-7 pay per coin wagered?
What does the 6-out-of-7 pay per coin wagered?
What does the 7-out-of-7 pay per coin wagered?

1-2-22-422-7000 7-spot is not that hard to find. Similar to a fair
reel slot. You're getting good theoretical, combine it with a bonus,
promo or progressive and you could be in the money.

I'm not very good at formatting on a computer. I just don't know the
right buttons to push.

   HIT PAYOFF CHANCE Payback %
3 of 7 1 5.7 .1754
4 of 7 2 19.16 .1044
5 of 7 22 115.74 .1901
6 of 7 422 1366.12 .3089
7 of 7 7000 40984 .1708

The percentage that each hit contributes to the payback is determined
by dividing PAYOFF by CHANCE.

This game comes in at 94.96%.
