I think that most Atlantic City patrons use HET as the yardstick for marketing. Their big deal now is multipliers of comps.

I never am enticed to go to a casino by such things as $500 every 10 minutes, drawings for cars, slot tournaments, or "get at least $10, but you may get as much as $10,000". My reasons is that I "never" win these things (except for 2 slot tournaments where I came in 23rd and 45th).

What I like is a sure monetary bonus. To this end, I think that Tropicana, AC has gotten it. For instance, I (who am a quarter player, although I play for long hours each time), have received the following offer for the coming week: Thursday bonus cash = $125, Friday bonus cash = $75. In other words, if I come Thursday and stay overnight,I get $200 bonus cash. So Bally's can keep their $5 bonus cash that they have offered me this month. This is in addition to cashback.

Lou,
I agree that the Trop gives much more cash than HET but there are
other considerations. We like the HET casinos for the variety of
being able to go to four different casinos with the same diamond
status and the free buffets and the availability of the Diamond Clubs.
The only playable game at Trop is the Five Jokers and most times if
you go on a weekend this game is hard to get.
