To M or not to M?

We're heading down to Vegas in mid-December. We're staying 3 nights comped at the Mirage, but are thinking we'd like to stay somewhere else our last night - a place we can just hang out, relax and play some good VP.
We were settled on M resort until the last few days, reading the posts on here. Has M really gotten that bad in the last couple weeks?
We were looking forward to some good VP play and some great eats at their buffet. From what it sounds like, they've both gone by the wayside.
Can anyone local give us the scoop?

Thanks much!

I would stay at the M for your last day.
Thumbs up on all fronts with the exception of the FP removal mentioned in other posts.
I was just there for 3 days and LOVED the place.
Most comfortable beds EVER. Buffet was excellent!
Pool area quiet and service quick. Loved the comfortable 'feel' and
more mellow (older) music choice.
We would stay at the M again in a heartbeat

I totally agree withn your asessment, Annie. I too just stayed
at M for a few days, and still very much enjoyed the gorgeous
rooms, excellent restaurants, and the friendliest, most accomodating staff in LV!

If you are content with playing 9/6 JOB, 8/5 BP, and 9/6 DDB for a
few days, IMO it is worth sacrificing the >100% games, for a short
period of time.
