I wonder if tipping has gotten worse since the advent
of TITO. One used to be able to take $1 out of the
coin tray and give it to the waitress, but now, one
must have cash on hand. I'm always prepared with $1
bills for tipping (I just get 10 $1 bills before I
begin to prepare). However, I think it would be an
added benefit to be able to print a "tip" ticket out
of the video poker/slot machine. I've seen drink
servers accept TITO tickets with small values (e.g.
the leftover amounts usually when switching from
nickels to quarters) at the Indian Casinos here in San
Diego.
At Harrah's or Harvey's in Lake Tahoe, they had a
"Quick Change" button which, when pressed, spat out $1
in quarters (I think it was only on the quarter
machines)--which I found very convenient if I was on
credit play at the time.
