Tipping

I'll admit I am a poor tipper - but I'm getting better. I was so excited on
my last royal I forgot to tip! I know these people don't make a lot of
money, but neither do I. They chose their occupation knowing full well what
the limitations of the job were. Why is it my obligation to make part of
that up? I still don't know - but I do tip more in my old age!

I am in the ultimate service industry. I am a teacher. Low pay
(comparatively), long hours, little appreciation for what I do, and yet I
NEVER get a tip of any kind. Unless of course you count the several "f**k
you's" I get from my darling little at risk kids.....

Uh, no, he doesn't! Public school teachers generally work about a
ten month contract so they are "off" about eight weeks. Of course,
they don't get paid during that time unless they choose to pro-rate
their contract year salary over twelve months. Of course, they're
still not really being paid for this "vacation." They've just
stretched their ten month pay over twelve.

So what do they do with all this generous free time. Let's see.
How about going back to school to work on the continuing education
credits required by their school system? Good idea if they'd like
to keep their jobs and have an opportunity to get promoted to a
higher ranking. When was the last time you went to graduate
school? Think it's a free ride? I suspect teachers are charged for
these courses, just as are all others. Here in Ky, we start many of
these teachers at 25K a year (ten months) and then we give 'em all
summer off. Hell, I think they're overpaid and have way too much
time on their hands.

SK, you should be ashamed of yourself!!!!

Pete

Yes!

But, usually, with no pay for those months off! :frowning:

Hello teacher,

I am a retired teacher at the ultimate golden bear school, Upper Arlington
Ohio home of Jack Nicklaus. We only have perfect children here.
No F. U.'s ever. Argosy in Indiana is our closest -- 9/6 J or B and few
of those is there best.
