It is infrequent for one who is a "good" tipper to not tip when
service is poor. Poor service can make a good tipper into an average
tipper, but our George personality will nor allow us to become
a "bad" tipper.

And any of us (like me) who have worked for tips will most likely continue
to be a good tipper as well.

Here is one problem I have had. We don't know in advance what percentage or arrangement the waitperson has with the busperson. This causes a problem if you have good service by one and mediocre from the other. I have at times tipped the busperson as well or when tipping the waitperson specified a certain amount for the busperson which in most cases I would see the waitperson walk over to the busperson and give this to him or her immediately. There have been times (fortunately very few) when I gave the busperson the tip I would normally give the waitperson and left only $1 to the waitperson due the busperson giving excellent service and the waitperson mostly non existent service. What one must remember is that some of the service takes place b4 (setup) and after u dine (cleanup) which is why on mediocre service will still tip $1 or $2 as some of the work was done, and at close to minimum wage.
