Tipping for handpays

I've seen a couple of posts recently discussing taxes and tips.? At least 2 people said to give tip information to your accountant along with your wins and losses.

As far as I can tell from the gambling tax rules, tips are not deductible for the non professional player.? I don't know if they are deductible for the professional player or not.?

So, if you hit a royal for $1000 and tip $10 to the slot attendant, the IRS would treat that as $1000 in wins.? Tips aren't losses.?

Well, I can give you my opinion. Before I walk into a casino I know
how much money I have in my wallet. When I leave the casino, I
count how much money I have in my wallet. The difference between
the two amounts constitutes my profit (or loss) for the session.
Any tips to the cocktail waitress or for hand paid jackpots *while
I'm playing* I consider to be direcly related to my play and part of
my wins and losses for the session, therefore they are lumped into
my overall won/loss record. Is this strictly correct according to
IRS regulations? I don't really care, because I'm not about to
start keeping a separate yearly record for every $1 tip for a drink
while I'm playing.

Note: The cost of other expenses while I'm NOT playing, such as tips
for meals, are kept separately and not counted in my session results.
