Perhaps another assepct of tipping, as far as high denom. advantage
players go, is to take the 'heat' off a really good opportunity. Ive
found myself tipping more generously (without giving up too much EV)
to keep nosey floor attendants somewhat oblivious. Of course in the
long run this tactic only temporially delays the inevatble actions
of casino management. A classic example of this was last year at the
casino Monte Lago during thier give away the store, errrrrrr....5X
point promo. Myself, along with several other half dollar and up big
game hunters, descended apon CML. My game of choice was either 8/5BP
50cent Spin poker (78$/hr. based on 850 base spins on the turbo
feature) or (2)side by side 5$ single line BP (130$/hr. with less
volitility than the Spin Poker). I toked the floor personel, cage
hustlers errrr...cage cashiers, and even the cocktail servers more
than I usually do in an attempt mask what I was doing. Ultimately,
it failed big time. I did very well for about 7 weeks until CML
basicly banned me (and several others) for merely taking advantage
of the bone-headed miscaculation of their ignorant marketing head. I
was even told point blank by the swing shift floor supervisor I
wasnt going to be allowed to 'make a living' there. I havnt returned
since and understand that currently even quarter rollers are having
their mailers nixed. Bottom line casinos managements are way more
savy nowdays. Bigger than average tips that are essentialy de-
facto 'hush money' dont even buy you much these days.
