Why would anybody tip a host when their primary job is to get their customers to empty their pockets, under the guise of well-placed words, smiles, and a reel 'em in gesture every now & then? I've never seen one open their wallet and tip the customer after coming in, losing thousands, and helping to keep their job secure.

I thought we are not supposed to tip hosts.

I forget what we gave our host when we won the 1/2 mil tournament but we
thought it was pretty generous. But she gave us dirty looks every time we
saw her after that. Fortunately we quit playing at Caesars soon after that
win - and when we went back recently we used another host.Bartenders are known to expect far-too-big tips. Some hosts also.
