11a. Time involved to qualify for 7 Stars
Date: Mon Jan 5, 2009 9:24 pm ((PST))In addition to the 10k minimum average loss in qualifying for 7 Stars,
no one has mentioned the time involved. If this couple are playing $5 vp at $25/spin and running 15k thru per
hour, it'll take 66 hours to qualify. If the couple are playing simultaneously, it'll take 33 hours each, or
close to one full work week per year per partner. So in addition to the financial loss, it also depends on how much one
feels one's time is worth, and what one chooses to do with one's free
time. For some, spending 33 hours losing money playing vp in order to get a
rush for a weekend from a fancy bidet and some other "perks" is
probably not worth the time invested.
And for some, that's not much time at the machines at all. While I myself no longer play (anything) for extended hours, I had a friend who once went to Vegas for five days, and came home claiming to have slept a total of eight hours and only eaten three times. Someone like that would get their 33 or 66 hours in easily in one such trip. This particular person was a quarter player, but even so, didn't have a slot club card until I explained the value of it for someone who plays so extensively on a trip.
I didn't get in on earlier posts on this thread, so don't know if the question dealt with doing this in a single trip, but 33 hours each on a four-day trip might not be that big a deal for some people (again, personally, I'm lucky if I can put in four hours a day anymore, but there was a time...).
