Although this article is not specifically about the concept of
"looseness" and "tightness" as it applies to VP, the discussion
happens to stray into that area as it involves one well-known

Tight and loose are words used by slot players because they don't
have much to go on. These descriptives are of not much use to the
video poker player when he/she can simply cite the pay table. The
pay table determines the strategy and return of a vp machine. You
will notice that Dancer cites specific games, paytables and expected
return. Dancer uses the term "loose" loosely to compare casinos
general vp inventory.
