ticket spillage, hand-pay

Re ticket spillage:
different machines do indeed do different things. $10 Pick'em spill at $3k for example. Most of the old $5 Pick'em did also at $3K, though not all... Some (other) machines now spill when the total would exceed $1200 (pointless)

Hand Pay Limit:
Again, different machines do different things < $1200 win-- though this option usually can be changed for you if you ask nicely on new machines.

The $1 machines all used to spit out tickets at $500, but I was told that they
are (gradually) changing all the machines to exceed this amount now, or at least
the new machines. I hate those $500 handpays, but now I'm finding that more &
more machines are just putting the credits for those on your balance.

Certainly the game is rigged. Don’t let that stop you; if you don’t bet, you
can’t win. -Lazarus Long

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice,
there is. -Yogi Berra
There is no such thing as luck. There is only adequate or inadequate preparation
to cope with a statistical universe. -Robert Heinlein
