Before putting any ticket into a redemption machine, it might be a good idea to
note either the validation number or the last 4 digits of the ticket number. This
will give you something to lay claim to in case the machine swallows the ticket
and doesn't put out any cash.
I also do this when I put a ticket or a bill in in any of the TITO slot machines
just in case I don't get the credits I am entitled to.
