Tick...Tick...Tick....

It is now $50k per event. And it will continue to grow by
$10k/event/day until the weasel comes out of his hole either with the
cash or with the white flag (that I'll ignore of course!). Punishment:
A nerd's most undesireable attachment.

BTW--I bowled again yesterday in a tune-up. 4 games this time. 98, 170,
212, & 132. That told me two things - one of which last week's did.
First, I get better as I bowl, so in a match I'll need to bowl a game
or two beforehand. Second, did I get tired in game 4? Me? No way. But
what did happen is I don't have the arm strength I used to have, and my
arm tired. So I went into deep storage and pulled out the dumbells. A
few weeks of working out with them (while little dicky works his
fingers on the vp machines) and I'll be able to bowl 6 strong games in
a row. Right after tennis!

That's one of the problems of age. The body isn't ready to go like it
was 20 years ago.

Second, did I get tired in game 4? Me? No way. But
what did happen is I don't have the arm strength I used to have,

and my

If you think 4 games is tough wait until you try 10. Bowling uses a
whole new set of muscles. Even though I was bowling 5 games a session
in NV, it took me a week to bowl 10 games comfortably when I got back
to MN. Of course, I have bowled up to 21 games in succession while 10-
12 is a normal practice session.

So I went into deep storage and pulled out the dumbells. A

What happened to the 10 games you specified previously?

I suppose I've had enough fun with this and so I will give Robbie a
break. While I'm sure he wouldn't return the favor if the shoe were
on the other foot, I must do what I consider morally right. Although
we all know Rob would eventually find some way to back out, I'll make
it easy. The truth is I am a professional bowler. I have been since I
retired 8 years ago, however, I have not participated in many
tournaments since my knee problem appeared 5 years ago (in the few
tournaments I entered I sucked really bad and only averaged around
190). Amazingly, the knee significantly improved in the last few
months and I will be entering some national tournaments again this
summer. In fact, that is why I'm returning to NV later this month. I
will be bowling in Tucson and Las Vegas during June.

http://www.pba.com/schedule/schedule.asp?season=53&type=2

So, I am clearly a LOCK to win half the bet. That is why I would
agree to almost any amount Rob chooses to throw at me. For example,
at practice today I averaged 229 for 10 games and that is far from my
best (240 for 12 games last week). I've had 3-300 games over the last
month since my knee decided to let me bowl normally.

What about tennis. My game is far from it's peak. Not playing for
almost 5 years will do that. I suspect Rob might have an advantage
here. I was rated between 4.0-4.5 when I quit playing due to my knee
problems. See:

http://www.usta.com/leagues/custom.sps?iType=931&icustompageid=1655

If Rob is a 4.0 or higher he would probably have an advantage at
tennis. However, it might not take much practice for me to make it a
match, whereas he has NO chance at bowling.

Now that I've "come clean" let me make it clear that there are
NO "white flags" here. I'm still ready to go. 0, $20K, $40K, $50K
each ... whatever ... just name your poison.

So now what are you doing, cuttin in on medical forums and posting as

been able to do unless my body won't let me. In this case, it ain't
arguing. So set it all up and stop with all the sniveling.

Just the facts, as usual.

I'll be there July 3rd and not June 3rd. That's a Monday. If you
don't like that date I'll pay for your flight down & back--but only
after all the cash is deposited somewhere that neither I nor you have
control or access to. Work on the details. I did it with Fezzik by
setting up an escrow account at the Westin. You should be able to get
something going when you're in town for (chuckle chuckle) BOWLING!
