Thunder Valley Question
How does one go about looking for 100+% machines in a CA Indian
Casino? Will Strictly Slots magazine or Bob Dancer or some CPA
certify them and then continuously monitor them? Otherwise, the
100+% slots ad is absurd because it's inherently unverifiable.
As Sovereign Entities, CA Indian Casinos are free to cheat and false
advertise, and I have seen enough misleading and outright false ads
from Thunder Valley over the past year to not give their ads any
mind, and certainly won't waste my time to go looking for their
100+% machines even if I know how. They can advertise anything they
want - no one has the authority to fine or suspend or revoke their
gaming license because they don't need a gaming license.
Having said that, the newly refurbished Cache Creek Casino is giving
Thunder Valley some competition, hence the radio ads, and a slight
improvement in their best VP games (now returning 94% instead of
93%).

Thunder Valley is part of the Station Casinos chain. When I visited last December, I saw their machines are the usual manufacturers (IGT/Ballys/etc.) who make the machines we all know and love. If I saw an IGT VP machine in Thunder Valley and it had a "full pay" scale, I would probably trust it to be on the up-and-up.
In case you were wondering, the pay scales were fairly horrible last December. Except for one bank of quarter progressives that were up over the $3100 mark, I doubt any VP machines in the place were over 97%. I think the original posting on this subject said "100% payout slots". When I visit TV again in three months, I'll be interested to see if that includes the VP machines. If no one else reports back to this forum before then, I will.

I have a friend who lives in cow-town that I visit frequently, and
we used go to TV for the cheap food in the cafe. TV has numerous
slots advertised with the "up to" 100% logo (the usual disclaimer
applies). One of my favorite banks is the 3-coin $0.25 Triple Star
slot progessives near the front of the casino, which got hit twice
when I was there: once at $17K and once at $12K.
The VP at TV is worse than AC. The $3K plus quarter progressive that
someone commented about probably required 10 or 15 coins to qualify
for the jackpot. In the high limit area, there is a $25 machine
progressive with a 7-5 Bonus Poker pay table, which is probably the
best vp pay-table in the whole casino.

Be care, that machine requires 10 or 15 coins to qualify for the
jackpot. I kid you not! I put my trip reports on vp-free california,
and I am happy to announce the base vp games in TV have improved
from 92% to 94%. Good grief.
Lastly, the best game there is a progressive $25 7-5 Bonus Poker,
which has a base return of 98%. Good grief, a second time.
