Thoughts on Lake Las Vegas

Agreed on all accounts. I don't get it. It's a terrific destination. As a condo owner there (easily the worst investment I've ever made), I can tell you that occupancy rates are generally around 40%. Hopefully things will pick up as the resort inches toward completion and the rest of the golf courses come on line. Having stayed in our unit a many times, I can attest to the high quality of the rooms, which are effectively apartments and come with full kitchens and balconies and cost less than most rooms on the strip.

Sorry to hear that Monte lago is in financial difficulty. The Lake las
Vegas area is a beautiful place. I have only been there about five or
six times, (usually in March) but in every instance the whole darn
place seemed deserted! Very few people walking the paths, no one at the
sandy swimming area, and only couple dozen in the shops or on the
village streets and open areas. The hotels and golf courses seem to be
empty. With so few people, it's a wonder that the whole complex isn't on
the verge of bankruptcy. Maybe I've been there at the wrong time of the
year. I find the area to be very beautiful and relaxing, and if I had
the financial resources I wouldn't mind living there. Hope it survives
and thrives. Dick Mck.

i believe it is only the casino that is in financial trouble...the
resort itself is going through the same real estate experience as the
rest of las vegas...it is hardly inching toward completion as it is
only about 1/3 built out...lots more housing to come if and when the
market turns around...
