Thoughts on Lake Las Vegas

Sorry to hear that Monte lago is in financial difficulty. The Lake las Vegas area is a beautiful place. I have only been there about five or six times, (usually in March) but in every instance the whole darn place seemed deserted! Very few people walking the paths, no one at the sandy swimming area, and only couple dozen in the shops or on the village streets and open areas. The hotels and golf courses seem to be empty. With so few people, it's a wonder that the whole complex isn't on the verge of bankruptcy. Maybe I've been there at the wrong time of the year. I find the area to be very beautiful and relaxing, and if I had the financial resources I wouldn't mind living there. Hope it survives and thrives. Dick Mck.

Lake Las Vegas has three main problems:

1) Location
2) Location
3) Location

It's hard enough to get tourists to work up any interest in a property one
block from the Strip, let alone in some far away unknown miles to the east
unreachable by freeway.
Remember the great Resort at Summerlin? Five star this and five star that,
but nobody came. They all stayed at Bellagio instead.

Visitors won't even visit a shiny new property right under their noses if
it's not convenient. South Point stood by and watched thousands drive by on
I-15 everyday in both directions, but without a freeway exit they just kept
on driving.
