There may be quite a flow of people on holiday nights, and on some Friday nights, but it isn't at all like it used to be. Sure many of them are playing penny slots but many are playing .30 a spin or in that low denom. area, and that just won't cut it for the casino to make the big bucks they need to keep in the blue. I seen some people play bigger amounts in penny slots, but when you hit them, it is usually only for a few hundred, and quite often it gets put back soon enough. It is not like the old days when you would see many hits in the thousand dollar range or more. I played a lot of VP, but I also played slots ( I like to have fun too), I remember getting hits in the thousands many times on quarter machines, even nickel machines some times, but it is so rare now that you just know they have changed the settings in the machines. Most of the machines I used to hit those kinds of hits on are near dead now or gone. I hit a couple royals on the blue gamemakers in 2011 and they pulled them a few months later. They kept juggling the pay tables or the amount of coin in before they finally pulled them, you just know they were trying all they could to keep them in, (and still find a way to make a decent profit on them). I guess pulling them showed they couldn't.
