There is a sample room display at Aquarius by the front door, and a
real, remodeled sample room open Friday through Monday on the third
floor of the Arizona tower. We were taken on a tour by one of the
hotel managers after asking at the bell desk. Looks like the new
rooms will have the one cup coffee makers like Harrah's offers.
They are also having a drawing for a free stay with entry forms by
the front door display. Rooms will be nice when they're all done.
They also told us they had wi-fi in the hotel now. I forgot to ask
if it's free. The Starbucks in the AQ is finally open later--it
used to close really early, like 4:00 p.m. as I recall.
Pioneer is starting to offer wi-fi for hotel guests for $10. They
will issue a password at checkin. I believe it's unlimited for the
time of your stay. The $1 slant top JoB that were by the front desk
were replaced by some new Game Kings. The old machines may have
been moved to the room by Sassy Sally's River Bar--I never noticed
them before. Pioneer is going partially TITO, but they're not there
yet.
Colorado Belle Captain's Buffet doesn't have breakfast on We, Th, or
Fr, which seems like weird days to exclude.
I saw a sign in the GN that Saltgrass steakhouse is serving Cowboy
Breakfast, but I don't know what days. It isn't listed in the
Entertainer.
Plenty of water over Memorial Day in the river, but it was cold and
rainy on Saturday and the casinos were crowded. It warmed up on
Sunday.
Express Jet is flying to Laughlin from Ontario Int'l for the
Colorado Belle and Edgewater. They fly from ABQ, so I wonder if
they'll add Laughlin as a destination in the future. A host from AQ
told us they really wanted to start charter trips as well, so it may
become even more accessible.
