Things to do in Laughlin, June 17 to June 22

Hello Laughlin Group,

My brother and I will be going to Laughlin from June 17 to June 22. We will be flown in from Chicago on a junket coutesy of Harrah's Laughlin. We made the arrangements for this trip through our host at Harrah's Laughlin before the downgrading of all machines that used to have 9/6 JOB. We have already expressed to our host our concern about the lack of any machines that we normally play.

With this situation in mind, it is unlikely that we ever be in Laughlin again. You see, there are no other direct flights from Chicago to the airport in Bullhead. And if such flights were to start, I doubt the existance of shuttles from the airport to the casinos in Laughlin.

Anyway, we would like suggestions on activites to do during the four full days that we will be in Laughlin. (Please keep in mind that we will probably never return to Laughlin...so-o-o becoming established at a casino other than Harrah's does not "look" like it would be advantageous to us....on the other hand, if there is nothing elso to do, we would be willing to give other casinos action. We usually play video poker [9/6 JOB, FPDW, NSUD] on the quarter, half-dollar and dollar level.)

Thank you for reading this communication. Thank you in advance for your positive responces.

Larry

Plenty of full pay vp at Pioneer, CB/EW. and AQuarius.

If you want to get established at new places, try the Aquarius.

If you drink beer, you both could try for the 99 bottles of beer at the EW River Bar. Completing such a task gets you $50 bonus dining certificate, name on plaque/wall, and a case of (beer)>........!

Hi Larry,

Check out:

http://www.laughlinentertainer.com/
http://www.visitlaughlin.com/ltourism/index.jsp

If you rent a car, you will be within day trips to the Grand Canyon,
Hoover Dam and Las Vegas.

In Laughlin, pick up the free Laughlin entertainer in your room or the
lobby to find out what's going on during your stay.

Take the River Taxi from Harrahs to the Riverside. Check out the free
Laughlin Classic Car Collection. Take the river walk back visiting all
the other casinos. Walk across casino drive from the Edgewater to the
outlet mall. Then to Tropicana Express for the free train ride. Then
back to Colorado Belle and continue the river walk. The river walk ends
at the River Palms. So you will either need to hike up the hill to
Harrahs or take the river taxi.

There are various boat trips such as the jet boat to the London Bridge
for $66.
Round trip bus service Mon & Thur to Las Vegas for $20 702-298-4435

Your visit should be hot, hot, hot.... (literally)

I thank you all for your suggestions.

Larry,
I am going on similar totally free Laughlin charters; one from Riverside Casino and one from Harrah's. While, I, too am disappointed that Harrah's downgraded their VP, it is still a FREE airplane ride for two and FREE hotel.

Just like you in Chicago, I am in Green Bay and it is difficult to get a direct flight to any gambling destination unless you take Allegiant commercially and pay for it usually < $300 RT even with all the "extra" fees. OR you take the free flights/hotel offers from Harrah's and Riverside.

If the flight and hotel room are free I think you still come out ahead for a "vacation" trip. Figure out what the shorter pay tables cost per hour on average and then figure out what air/hotel would be if you had to pay for it yourself and any free meals.

For those of us that have to fly to play --- call me naive and foolish, but I think it is still a GOOD deal when we have the free junkets.

Larry,
How did your trip go? My sister and I will be there July 19-23 on Riverside charter from Green Bay.

Are you still of the mindset that you won't take any more free trips?
