Theo?

I checked the glossary and theo there seems to pertain to the amount
of money a casino will "win" from the players.

As of late on vpFREE there has been talk of theos in the range of 3,
4, and 5%. These appear to be referencing player advantage.

That seems like one heck of an advantage.

Am I misunderstanding these postings and if so could someone please
define.

Further, maybe the glossary could be updated.

Theo refers to the player's "theoretical loss" (from the casino's point of view). This is a number assigned to each machine in the casino. The greater your "theo", the more goodies you get, depending on the casinos. You can get more comps, bounceback, invites to lucrative giveaways, etc. All this is part of the player's return. The goodies can make a negative game quite positive. Help that helps.

So when a good game quoted as having a theo of 4% could actually be
a negative EV game, but due to hughe play etc can turn in to an
advantage (player theo??) of 4% Most of the term theo seems to be
centered on Paladin's posts for reference.

He does seem to be following in Bob Dancer's footsteps in trying to educate
the world in how to eliminate advantage play. I've given up on Bob as a
hopeless cause. Maybe Paladin will see the light.
