The worst machine seen?

Gold Spike in Las Vegas has 1 to 100 penny multi poker
machines with somewhere around 85% return. And that's
with max coins. But they might be MIA as I haven't
been there in three years.

JT, he started out with nothing and still has most of
it left.

Actually, that paytable is standard at Station's for
Triple Double
Bonus....at least at GVR. Worst paytable I've seen
recently is 6/5
DDB. That paytable is within eyesight of 10/6 DDB on
the Optimums.
Plenty of people playing those 6/5DDB too. There's
plenty of locals
that have a blank look when I mention they could
find better pay
tables close by. They prefer the 6/5's because they
hit more often.

The Gold Spike...

I remember playing backjack at the Gold Spike 15 years ago or so at 50c
a hand. That's right, lay 2 quarters on the felt.

I also remember a bum with a few nickels in his pocket waiting for a
cocktail waitress to walk by and then when she did, he would stick a
nickel into the machine and ask "Hey Honey, where is my drink"?

I really thought that place was a real real dive, but it was
interesting watching the people in there.

Is it still that bad?

I haven't been in there for many many years.

It's not as bad as it was, but on the other hand there is no reason to
stay there anymore. They remodeled the rooms a few years ago and
raised prices in the diner. Since Barrack bought the place last year
the free room offers have stopped. I can't blame them since, without
a slot club, there was no way to track play and some stayed for free
for years with no play. They also put in new blackjack tables. I
have no idea what the minimums are.
