The Wizard of Odds: Las Vegas Casino Blacklist

I haven't been to Vegas World since Bob Stupak refused to pay my
winning bets on roulette, and now JBQ has convinced me to never go
to the Stratosphere. They don't have a few bucks for several gigs of
memory, and they expect regular folks as patrons. Vegas World
literally stank, and I see that the Stratosphere is figuratively
following the that model. Here's the word we're looking for:

1.
welcher - someone who swindles you by not repaying a debt or wager
welsher
chiseler, chiseller, defrauder, grifter, scammer, swindler, gouger

I'm highly skeptical that this has anything
to do with storage space and more likely
it's about accounting as described earlier or
simply a way to easily goose profits.

While I have empathy for the ticketholder,
there have to be some rules so businesses
can eventually close their books on outstanding
liabilities. Is 60 days right? I don't know
but I always try to follow the rules to avoid
just this sort of thing.

Please don't send attacks, these are simply
my opinions.

Hope the ticketholder wins with gaming. Only
other recourse I can conceive of is suing in
local court to get local news coverage. I'd be
sending a link to this conversation to the
LVRJ anyway (what's to lose?) and the
conversation might help someone else while
embarassing the Strat. It would also make
good column fodder for other gambling
related writers.

Isn't he the guy that brought a bunch of new chips
into a casino the day before they were put into play?

What's to lose?

Well, for one thing, publicizing that he "forgot" to cash
a $2,900 ticket before it expired just might reduce is
credibility with some people. Or, it might make him
look like a down-right fool and lose a little respect
from others.

If I were the Wizard of Odds, I would take my story
off my website and pretend that it never happened.

Memo to Jean Scott:
If you ever do something this stupid, PLEASE do not
tell us!
