"The Video Poker Edge"/Self Promotion

I'm not sure why you even bothered responding to my post.
It seems very defensive of you.

I try to respond to all posts on all vpFREE forums if I have
some relevant information or input.

Linda asked me a question and I answered it --
on the proper forum, according to your rules. Your defensive
response is exactly the reason I don't post on VPFree -- minority
opinions don't seem welcome, and who needs this aggravation of a
sarcastic post from someone who supposedly doesnt like disruptions.

All opinions (that observe the posting rules) are welcome
on vpFREE. Administrative opinions should be sent to me
privately or posted on FREEvpFREE (as you did). I'm not
aware that I was or am defensive. I'm just providing insight
that seems appropriate.

Disruptions are fine with me on FREEvpFREE.

I never said you weren't aware of the difficulties of keeping the
forum polite and civil. I just continue to maintain that it's not
necessary.

You said "The problem is exacerbated by the administrator,
who hasn't figured out that when 5,000 people disagree, it
won't always be civil ..."

And I believe that it is necessary to keep vpFREE polite and civil.

I feel that you're neurotic and are ruining the
experience with your constant interjections that were not an issue
under previous administration.

Which spoils your primary goal which you have stated as:
"The major benefit of VPFree for myself as a non-Nevada
traveler is the entertainment value that comes from lurking.
Since the new mod puts the kibosh on things I find entertaining
much faster than VPFAE, I welcome any well-run alternatives."

Now this is were I assume VPFAE will
jump to your defense and say he never had the disruptions you had.
Maybe. But maybe he handled them better with a less is more
approach. I also surmise that the above may ALSO be a minority
opinion. SO be it.

Whatever.

I did it in response to a borderline flame post
by someone who should be above such a thing, and did it on the
proper forum.

I'm not sure what you're talking about here, so I won't comment.

And why do you assume I care about your opinion about whether VPFree
is for me or not, especially since I dont know who you are.

Your reaction to my opinion is immaterial to me, and you should
know who I am (the vpFREE Administrator).

Obviously I've decided the forum is for me, otherwise why would I
care enough to criticize the administrative practices. That is where
I can feel I can make the most contribution.

Fine. Everyone is welcome on vpFREE, if they observe the rules.

All constructive comments about vpFREE affairs are always
welcomed and encouraged if done by private email or on FREEvpFREE.

There's very little
original VP content I can offer. I play plays that everyone already
knows about. Of the two regions I play in, one has a forum that is
not sponsored by you (ACVPP). The other has a board that gets about
10 posts a week (VP_Free New ENgland). The math stuff gets well
covered, my trips are uneventful, and I dont post about other issues
for the reasons stated above.

You've never seen an update you could make to the DataBase,
never had a video poker experience to share, never had some
input to offer on promotions or comps received etc. ?

Please tell me you have better things to do then worry about a post
that wasn't directed to you (whoever you are) from someone in
Connecticut who does nothing but "criticize and complain about
administrative practices" anyway.

I have a lot of better things to do than responding to your post(s),
but did so anyway because I try to address all serious comments
where I have relevant information or input. I won't respond to any
further posts from you unless there's new ground to cover.

That's commendable... but not much fit the bill here except
clarification of the change in the moderation policy.

Correct. So what? I'm offering feedback. I acknowledged its likely a
minority opinion. If that's the case, and you see no reason to make
any adjustments, then it's my problem. No "relevant information or
input" there.

<snip my expectation of VPFAE defending VPFREE ADMIN>

Whatever.

Thank you for that relevant input.

I was referring to YOUR post, this very post I;m responding to. But
yes, I know you didn't see your response as defensive, so you
probably won't see it as a borderline flame either.

...and you should know who I am (the vpFREE Administrator).

I can only assume this was supposed to be humorous. You've given
your reasons for hiding behind anonymity many times, and while I
respect that you believe it's for the best, there's no denying that
anonymity cuts into credibility. You've decided the trade-off is
worth it, and that's fine, but I can't respect an anonymous opinion
(but you've stated that's immaterial to you anyway, so on we go...)

You've never seen an update you could make to the DataBase,
never had a video poker experience to share, never had some
input to offer on promotions or comps received etc. ?

Correct. I live in Connecticut. I like to play the $1 denomination.
Therefore Foxwoods is worthless and has been for more than a year
and a half. At Mohegan Sun, I almost always play $1 PE and $1 JOB.
Their locations also have not changed in over a year. You get one
comp dollar for every $90 coin-in at the dollar and higher level.
That has not changed in about two years. I dont have a premium
players' card, I dont go to shows or eat gourmet, I park in one of
the same five parking spaces each trip. Sometimes I win and
sometimes I lose. Their promotions have very little creativity and
add very little value. Larry Feldman and a few other VPFREE New
England posters whose names currently escape me do a great job of
covering the little details.

Once every 3-4 months, I go to Atlantic City -- an area not covered
by a VP FRee board. I play boring games, 9/6 jacks mostly. I stay in
standard rooms, no suites, no special requests, again no shows, I
don't drink, I dont club. I go alone, gamble, eat and sleep. Not
much of a trip report. I've never hit a progressive, had a dealt
royal, had two royals in a day, or anything else newsworthy (and
since I work in media relations, I feel I have good news judgment).
If I lose big, I dont feel like writing about it. I;ve never counted
my hands played before this year. Again, I have nothing to add that
other posters dont already cover when it comes to the topics you
mention, including database updates.

I won't respond to any

further posts from you unless there's new ground to cover.

Thank God.
