The Sacred Bankroll

Howdy

Hopefully by now many of the "knowledgeable" VP players are aware that a
bankroll is an essential part of their gaming arsenal.

Chances are you determine how much to take on your trip and the rest is in
a
safe place not on your person .

When I started to play on a regular basis I took what I thought was a
reasonable amount, based on my research and set it aside.... earmarked
strictly
for my gaming indulgence.

So far I am doing rather well. Although I promised myself not to touch the
loot I treated my self to a small gift which was paid from the cash back of
a
previous trip

This brings me to several questions regarding my own experience.

Do you consider your cash back and bonus coins part of your bankroll?. Do
you have a separate account for your bankroll? (Hope this is not too personal
or
private a question).

I have a separate account for bankroll/gambling and
count cashback etc. as part of bankroll.

While I dont keep a seperate bankroll per se' as i used to do. I do
keep detailed books and back them up. after losing a few thousand
hours of recorded play.

I got tired of having tidy summs taking up room in my safe and not
earning interest.

So I placed them in a managed portfolio account that I have and now
they earn about 3.78%

Yes I do count cash back and other liquidables after they are
liquidated . I include coupons ie cash drawing money , free money
coupons and free play is just like money to a gambling bankroll ie
funds with the sole purpose of putting into gaming action. ( I often
remind myself "Financial risk taking is what this money is for" just
like a fund that suppies my house payment or funds from a home
improvment loan are "for" improving a home.)

I dont include any type of comp unless its hard currency or
something I can sell and then only if I do sell it. ( I actually
sold a few bottles of wine and a nice casino jacket at a neighbors
garage sale awhile back)

so there you go

Do you consider your cash back and bonus coins part of your bankroll?.

Yes. Note that if most of your play is on slightly negative games like
NSUD where you rely on cash back and coupons to put you in positive
territory, then you MUST count cash back as part of your bankroll.
Otherwise, the drain from the machines will slowly evaporate your
bankroll.

Do you have a separate account for your bankroll?

Yes.
