I was there, ended by 11:45 pm.
Took 105 min. total.

A buddy I met in Poker room won, and they only visited a few times this
summer. They only visited twice this summer, had about 100 tix.
He won $200, most only won that or $500.
NOBODY won the 250K.

Martin.

Thanks for the feedback about the Endless Summer promo. It certainly was as
long as their (Marnell-Sher) first Summer promo last year.

So just how big was the drawing drum? Maybe concrete truck size? Did they
draw all the contestants first and then do the envelopes or was it one by one?

How were the masses of humanity treated? That plaza must have been packed.
Did they have an adaquate PA system?

Did they indeed just have 100 envelopes or did they add some more since they
did change the the Grand Prizes to 4x$250k?

So initially with 100 envelopes with four of them Aces and four of them Jacks
I get this for the odds that a contestant would win the big one:

(8/100)x(4/99)=8/2475 or about one in 310. This is alot better than the
initial, one in 9900 and they could start advertising a One Million Dollar promo.

So they gave away $10k plus a few $500 winners whose two cards added up to 17
or better.

Naw, I've actually seen BIGGER plexiglass spinners at Sam's
Town in LV (must hold about 1 million tix.) and Silverton.
Both were about 4' tall x 12' long…
This one was maybe 3-4 ' tall, and onlyh 6-7' long.
Some poor big security guy was poking his arm in all evening long to
draw out the winning tix.

Each contestant drew or received their 'winning' fate envelopes as
they checked in to the announcer/PA guy.

Actually, for a LARGE crowd/crowds, all across the plaza, and on
stairs, balconies, and even around the 'dock side' and along walkway
to EW - fairly sedate, mellow. EW/CB security sprinkled throughout,
and hosts/casino hosts/exec in suits with FLASHLIGHTS avail. to
escort winners to the stage.

PA system was fantastic, imho. I was underneath the canopys facing
river.

Did they indeed just have 100 envelopes or did they add some more

since they did change the the Grand Prizes to 4x$250k?

MY INITIAL calculations, based on 104 std. decks of cards sorted
into 100 separate envelopes, would've been similar to drawing a
natural '21', except only Aces (8) and Jacks (8) would have a chance.
So somewhat higher than the usual '21-1' odds.

HOWEVER - the poker guy I knew who went up there said the cards
weren't truly 'random'.... so it leads me to believe the odds were
more slim. Perhaps only a few Jacks and Aces out there?
He mentioned only about 6 or 8 got TOTALS higher than 16 for the
$500.

MOST of the 50 contestants had totals of 16 or less.

YOU can figure out the odds with those numbers...decks stacked
against them for sure.

So they gave away $10k plus a few $500 winners whose two cards

added up to 17

or better.
