The Palms does the unthinkable

Walking by the pit last night, what do I see but a few tables
getting new cloth covers and new signs:

"BLACKJACK PAYS 6 TO 5"

I had thought this scam was beneath the Palms. Ha. Apparently it's
conclusive that this game is highly popular and highly profitable.
Amazing.

I intend to boycott the Palms (except to pick up my free play and to
eat there for free) for whatever time they have this awful game.
Talk about taking advantage of the unwary! Sheesh.

BTW, the FPJW are still there, 6 machines by the coffee shop, as of
last night.

Wow. Fortunately it doesn't affect me as I gave up BJ in the late 90s
as the hassles involved with playing it profitably were already
getting on my nerves. Even before the reduction to 6-5 there were
better options than BJ, namely positive vp, Pai Gow (if you can bank
at will), live poker, and baccarat. Unfortunately the implications of
such a reduction are truly grim. Casinos have already been assaulting
positive vp and with the additional evidence that they can get away
with just about anything they're apt to scrap positive vp altogether.
