The Palms a "Nightmare" Today

Got to the Palms about noon to check if I won anything in last night's
drawing. I also wanted to access some extra bounceback reward for my play on their
weekly promo.

The computer was "down" so everyone was greeted as "guest". The slot
boothling promised about a one (1) hour till everything was back to normal. Decided
to have lunch first where they still accepted my card and jotted down the
number to make the transaction later.

As I exited the coffee shop and headed for a bank to play, I did notice a lot
of lights blinking on various machines but paid it no mind.

I started to play on a triple play for while. I managed a small win and
decided to cash out.
I only had $85 coming but the machine read "call attendant". Not only was
the computer down but somehow no tickets on cashing out were operable. All the
machines for whatever the amount(s) were hand-pays. (I'm sure there were some
exceptions)

The lady behind me was waiting for $4.50 and approximately 45 minutes later I
got my $85. The bouceback was still unavailable and I was promised a
"raincheck" the next time I was in. I don't understand why the security didn't meet
people at the door telling them that IF they played, the cashout lag time was
close to one hour.

Although I have more points than I need, there was no apology for the
inconvenience and/or a coupon for the buffet. what a good lesson in alienating your
customer base. With the emergency, it didn't seem as though they commandeered
any extra personnel or maybe they are not cross-trained for hand pays.

You saw a lot of the "coats" wandering by but it seemed that only a few were
handling this backup. Very poor management!
