This is but another "mopping up" postscript after the annihilation of many,
many full pay advantage games at Coast casinos about 3 - 4 years ago. At that
time, IMHO, it was the end of the major volume of FPDW/DB in this area. All
the ensueing reports are just afterthoughts as the low inventory is heading for
nil. If, as reported, many of the transferred managers are from the Strip
Stardust property, they know that in that venue, tourists still played whatever
was available.

Whether this downgrade action will negatively impact the handle at the
Orleans, a local joint, is debatable. Only time will tell. Just as table games
have had their heyday, more and more the 1c, cute graphics of pure slot machines
have replaced even the bad VP banks in many casinos. They are crowd pleasers
to people who want to have "fun".

I had hoped that the emergence of almost too many new properties would create
more competition and better games but the enormous growth of Clark County
seems to be enough to supply all the properties with enough patrons who will play
whatever is there.

Aint it awful, aint it awful! This has been the underlying current of posts
as many advantage players are now evaluating negative games + bback+ coupons,
comps, etc
and compromising to the reality of our situation. I can remember the days
when some players had to have a 3% game before they would even consider playing.
We are now "scratching" here and there to keep afloat until the real end.

Look at the Blackjack tables...the 3 to 2 when "out" with little less than a
whimper and people are still playing. Many of us jumped from counting cards
at BJ to video poker. Now, will live poker or its equivalent in a machine, be
the new guy on the block? I remember an old adage: "Be not the first by whom
the new are tried; nor yet the last to lay the old aside".
