I am ready a book by Royer that talks about adjusting the basic strategy when
playing some bonus games. When an Ace and HC appear together it is better to
always hold the Ace alone. The reasoning is the HC acts as a blocker and
prevents a higher paying hand. This is true even when they are suited at times.
The difference in the EV is so small between the two draws that it is a smart
play.
Any thoughts or experience?

Be careful about everything in Royers book ... its riddled with
errors, omissions, and faulty advice. To give a glaring example,
the "best" game in his "best games" table doesn't even exist at the
return he claims for it. Also, his claim that Aces occur in a non-
random fashion is totally bogus. And I can go on, and on, and on,
and on. Read Dan Paymars book instead and use WinPoker or FrugalVP
to answer specific strategy questions.
