The Long and Short Of It

Howdy

I am in the midst of possibly the longest RF drought in my VP playing
history. Conversely, I once hit a RF after 12 minutes of playing which is not a
Guiness Book Of Records candidate but it was for me.

Has anybody ever hit one on their first try? Or maybe had an ungodly lack of
you know what (keep it clean) worth mentioning.?

I have actually done it twice on my first hand. One time was on free
play.

Has anybody ever hit one (royal flush) on their first try?

I've had this pleasant experience a few times over 25+ years of
playing.

The two most recent first deal royals happened at downtown casinos.

The first was at the El Cortez, after sitting down between two
elderly gentleman. They took great pains to try warn me not to play
the machine, "because one of them had just hit a royal on it". My
response was, "Then it must be a lucky machine!" {(O: Their mouths
dropped open when I drew to RF4 and bought the 5th card, on my first
$1.25!

The second occurred at the Golden Nugget. I had been playing
awhile, doing fairly well, then hit a royal, and continued to play
on the same machine for some time. When the credits descended to
4000, the amount of the royal payoff, I cashed out, put the ticket
in my wallet, and sat down at the next machine on the bank. After
inserting a $20 bill, I watched incredulously as the cards appeared
on the screen, displaying a DEALT royal! That was quite a happy
morning!

When I hit my first RF, it was after a FIVE-YEAR drought, admittedly
only playing on occasional visits to Reno, but still...

While I was waiting for the handpay, I stuck a twenty into the machine
next door...and I was dealt a royal.

My longest royal drought was 275,000 hands, but I've only been doing
this a couple years so I'm sure I'll see a longer one eventually.
Actually, I just ended a 200,000 hand drought on Thursday. I hope you
end yours soon too!

Brad was playing his first hand of the session when he was dealt a royal flush on quarter Hundred Play.
