The Golden Nuggett still glitters----& Grand Tunica visit

Enjoyed your TR and again makes me want to grab a plane for a visit. We
just came back from Grand Casino in Tunica MS (with a short few playing
hours in Sam's). The 25 cent VP at the Grand was IMHO terrible but
found some redeeming 7 slot machines at Sam's to save the 3 day stay.
Have never been to Tunica before and was impressed with the vast
amount of land and distance from casino to casino. The Grand now owned
by Harrah's has THREE hotels separated and accessible by shuttles.
This keeps you in their casino because parking is long walking distance
from entrances. We had left Florida with some important papers and
items in car just in case Wilma hit our area(thank God she did not) so
did not want to do valet parking.
If I don't feel we stand a small chance of winning something at a
Casino I don't feel like a return trip. THe area was also a 2 day
drive so we will probably not return unless Harrah's offers us a flight
and visit someday. But it was a relief from sitting here in Florida,
waiting and watching the TV all day for a storm. The first time we
have retreated from a hurricane in almost 30 years!
Keep us living your great Vegas trips!

Hi Phylann,

It's nice to hear from you again! I'm pleased that you enjoyed my
TR.

I've stayed at the Grand in Tunica, as well as the Biloxi & Gulfport
Grands, prior to their acquistion by the evil empire. I really
enjoyed their VP back then. There was lots of 9/6JOB, a few 10/7DB,
and a multitude of Aces & Faces and Dbl. A & F, in those days. I'm
sorry that vp inventory has been downgraded in the typical Harrah's
fashion. I guess I won't be going back again.

I'm glad that Wilma by-passed you. I don't blame you a bit for
retreating! Some friends of ours were not so lucky, and had severe
house and pool damage. Fortunately, they didn't have people damage,
the most important aspect of all.

Best regards,
