The Even Hundred Dollar Trap

Greetings

How many times have you fallen for this one? You are up say 185 dollars
after playing a fair amount of time. Your say to yourself when I reach an even
200 hundred I will quit. You know what usually happens.. don't you? You
spiral down down down until you loose the money you were up and maybe you
loose part or all of your starting bankroll. All for a stinkin' 15 dollars
more.

Why is it some of us has to reach an even hundred dollar amount before we
can leave that machine? Beats me...literally .

Well today with all the strength I could muster I was up 275 after hitting
quads on DDB and I QUIT. Maybe there is a glimmer of hope for me still
flickering in the sometimes dark world of VP.

Anybody can quit when they are up, try quitting when you are $285 down.

I think the rule of thumb for an AP VP gambler is you will lose 6 of 7 trips. Therefore, you will lose your $185 about 6 of 7 times (over the long run). The 7th time you get a royal and come out ahead (over the long run). This is based on a positive EV game and is......(over the long run).

I won't even go to the restroom if I'm not on an even hundred - don't know why.

Are you referring to me??? How many times I have done this and then walk away with nothing or very little... Several years ago in Laughlin I was playing at the old River Palms, aka Sam's ,hitting more then usual 4oak and up to around $250.00... I had to go to the bathroom but could not leave the machine because I would have a ton of coins (before the TITO)so no change person to watch was almost going to wet myself and ran the win down to about $45.00 dumb, dumb, and dumber... They liked my action that I was invited to that year Super Bowl party... Richard from Ca.
