After almost 20 years of going to Vegas at least 3 times a year, I finally got my second Royal. However it wasn't for the usual amount of money.
We had been playing Dueces at the Palms and took a break to play some penny slot machines and I saw a five cent Double Bonus poker machine and we started playing it hoping to get the 4 Aces. The thought of a Royal really didn't enter my mind. On one hand I kept the Queen of Hearts and Ten of Hearts and the remaining 3 magical cards appeared. It was for $400.
On this trip we were very lucky. We hit the Dueces three times and even hit a penny slot machine downtown for $150.
I attribute this to only peeing in the #6 Urinal this trip. Previous I've usually been superstitious and peed in the #3 or #5 Urinal after the old 3-5 joke. Well guys, it didn't work. The secret to winning at Video Poker is to only pee in the 6th urinal. If it didn't have 6, I held it and found another one.
We stayed two nights at the Palms and one at the GN downtown. Had a very enjoyable trip.
I hope this ends the Royal Drought and I can hit a Royal on the Quarter machines soon.
