The point about the decibels used while on the cell phone is the one I most
agree with. When someone is talking loudly on the cell, I make a point of
shushing them saying OUT LOUD, "They can hear you if you talk at a normal
level." It seems to do the trick more often than not. If they persist, then so
do I. Sheesh, I like to read quietly at the airport while I await a flight.
I like to read quietly if I'm alone at dinner. I don't want my peace
interrupted by a loud voice talking about inanity just because it can.
